Structure of the University of Medicine and Social
The University of Medicine and Social Sciences is a multi-level higher education and research institution dedicated to training highly qualified professionals in the fields of medicine, social sciences, and the humanities.
The University’s structure is approved by the President, who leads the institution and ensures its strategic development. Key academic, scientific, and educational issues are governed by the Academic Council. The status, functions, and authority of all structural units are defined by relevant regulations approved in accordance with established procedures.
1. University Governing Bodies
President of the University
- Provides overall leadership and governance of the University;
- Defines the University’s development strategy and approves its organizational structure;
- Represents the University in relations with public authorities, partners, and international organizations.
Rector of the University
- Organizes and oversees the implementation of the educational process;
- Manages academic, research, and administrative activities;
- Coordinates the work of structural units within the scope of delegated authority.
Vice President of the University
- Oversees specific areas of educational, research, international, and administrative activity;
- Performs duties assigned by the President within defined powers.
Academic Council of the University
- Acts as a collegial governing body;
- Determines key directions of educational and research activities;
- Approves educational programs, internal regulations, and academic decisions.
2. Educational and Scientific Institutes
Educational and Scientific Institute of Medicine
- Implements educational programs in the field of medicine;
- Coordinates the activities of medical departments and educational-research units;
- Organizes practical training, clinical placements, and research activities.
Educational and Scientific Institute of Social Sciences
- Implements educational programs in social sciences, humanities, and management;
- Coordinates educational, research, and methodological activities of relevant departments;
- Promotes research development and practical training for students.
3. Administrative and Educational Support Units
Academic Affairs Office
- Plans and organizes the educational process;
- Develops curricula and schedules and ensures accurate recording of learning outcomes.
Human Resources Department
- Implements the University’s human resources policy;
- Manages recruitment, transfers, performance evaluation, and personnel records.
Records Management Office
- Ensures proper management of official documentation;
- Organizes the registration, storage, and control of administrative records.
Accounting Department
- Provides financial and economic support for University activities;
- Maintains accounting records and prepares financial reports.
International Relations Office
- Coordinates international activities of the University;
- Promotes international cooperation, academic mobility, and partnership programs.
4. University Centres
Centre for Postgraduate Education and Professional Development of Medical Personnel
- Organizes continuing professional development, specialization, and advanced training for medical professionals;
- Delivers educational events, training programs, and lifelong learning courses.
Clinical Training Centre in Romania
- Provides clinical training and practical placements for students;
- Facilitates the integration of international clinical experience into the educational process.
Simulation Training Centre
- Provides practical training using modern simulation technologies;
- Supports the development of professional competencies in a safe and controlled learning environment.
