FILIMONOVA Nataliia Ihorivna

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor

Born on January 15, 1967, in Kharkiv, she is a microbiologist. Doctor of Medical Sciences (2003), professor (2006). She graduated with honors from the Kharkiv Medical University in 1990 with a degree in pediatrics. After completing her postgraduate studies in 1993, she worked in the departments of normal physiology and anatomy (1994-1996) and pathological physiology (1996-2005) from 1994 to 2005. From 2005 to August 2024, she worked at the Department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology of the National Pharmaceutical University, which she headed in 2008. Since September 2025, she has been working as the head of the Department of Social, Humanitarian, and Biomedical Disciplines at the Kharkiv University of Medical and Biological Sciences.

In 2022, she received her second higher education at the Kharkiv Humanitarian University “People’s Ukrainian Academy,” majoring in Philology, specializing in Germanic Languages and Literature.

Scientific research: medical microbiology, virology, antibiotic resistance, microbial contamination of dosage forms and pharmaceutical preparations.

She is co-author of more than 322 scientific works (134 articles, including 9 in SCOPUS), including 2 monographs, 4 textbooks, 7 teaching aids, 7 methodological recommendations, and 16 Ukrainian patents for inventions and utility models.

Under the supervision of Filimonova N.I., 6 candidate and 1 doctoral dissertations have been defended.

She was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Association of Employers of the Medical and Microbiological Industry, the Certificate of Honor on the occasion of Science Day from the Kharkiv City Council, the Letter of Thanks from the Mayor of Kharkiv, and the Certificate of Honor from the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

She is a member of the Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine. She is a member of the specialized scientific council D 64.618.01 of the State Institution “I.I. Mechnikov University of Microbiology and Immunology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.” She is a member of the editorial boards of the journals Annals of the Mechnikov University and Bulletin of Pharmacy.
